Melanoma Monday
What can I do for a seven day headache?

I had Melanoma Cancer at the base of my brain when I was 7, I am now 20 and woke up on monday with TONS of pain in the left side of my head(which is where my cancer was) On Wednesday, I woke up and had blurry vision in my left eye. I went to the ER they did a partial CT scan because they didn’t want to remove my braces, they sent me home then sent me to an eye doctor, they did a bunch of test and I still have not gotten results. I saw my general doctor yesterday and he ordered a MRI but told me it will be a couple weeks…Nobody gave me pain meds or anything. I have been in a dark room ever since monday. My pain is at a 10 and I cant take it anymore, I just want to know whats wrong with me, Is my cancer back? What should I do?

I would go back to the doc, or another doc, and insist on pain killers. There is no reason in this day and age that you should have to suffer with pain that you rate a 10. As for the MRi thats a good idea. I know it’s hard to wait and it’s very scary so be sure to have a good support group of friends and family. Also call the hospital or where ever they’re doing the MRI and ask if you can be put on the cancelation list. Be sure to tell them your medical history so they’ll pick you first if there is a cancelation Make sure you give your boss the heads up so he will hopefully be okay to let you go at a moments notice (to the MRI that is if they call you), Hope everything works out for the best!!!
